The Industrial Division of SUANFARMA continues moving forward with its Business Plan through the expansion of the manufacturing capacities of Cipan. Our pharmaceutical plant located in Lisbon is going to expand their capabilities with three new and independent DSP lines for purification activities of Biofermentation processes. This new building integrated in our industrial park will be a state-of-the-art flexible multipurpose DSP workshop able to process and purify molecules expressed in microbial fermentation with the latest technologies available including, among others, 3-phase separators, UF/MF Units, chromatographic devices, L-L extractors and Wiped Film Evaporators; also, it will allow us to guarantee low bioburden products as its design includes final product isolation in clean rooms.
Considering the complexity of the future molecules, Cipan will be prepared with this workshop to perform most of the most demanding purification processes with the highest flexibility. The DSP lines are designed to have the best balance between automatization and flexibility, which allows the team to perform many purification techniques. The plant will include reactors with total capacity of over 450m3 and will be equipped with a long list of purification technologies as:
- Clarifiers
- Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration (up to 200 m2)
- Nanofiltration (up to 60m2)
- 3-phase centrifuge and horizonal axis centrifuges
- Chromatography Skids
- Thin film evaporators
- Nutsche filter
- Dryers (conical, fluid bed)
This plan is the demonstration of the commitment of SUANFARMA with their customers, and the understanding of their development plans up to commercial needs.
